Seeing with the Heart
Seeing with the Heart
“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” From The Little Prince for Noriko, this is one of the many passages from Saint-Exupery's "The Little Prince" that resonate deeply with her philosophy as a calligrapher. Although the art of calligraphy is highly visual, for Noriko, the most essential aspects of things are invisible eyes, to be seen clearly they must be seen with the heart.
